 Description  « Hide
Teleports from ANY WHERE at ANY TIME fail one after another getting the following msg window after each try at teleporting 'Could not teleport,
Sorry, but the system was unable to complete your teleport request
in a timely fashion. Please try again in a few minutes.'

I do as it says and the teleport fails over and over again, randomly I get lucky and teleport but it only happens 20% of the tries at teleporting, it is very annoying and soon it will probably be quicker to just log out and type in the name of the sim I wan to get to as the place to log in at. Many friends have been getting the same problem and is just the case of an non average number of teleports, a problem that second life has had many times before.

It would be nice if LL could take a look at this growing problem and do something about it if they can.

I'm hopeful the infrastructure improvements FJ has described can help with this severe problem.

Within about the last month, failed teleports, expired_region_handoff and extreme rubberbanding when crossing sim boundaries has escalated to near critical levels.

Undoubtedly some of this is raw sim performance, but a lot of it may be latency between sims....especially since it often seems a TP between island A and island B may be failing at a time when a TP from island A to mainland sim C and then from C to island B works.

It has now gotten to the point where logging out to just log back in, typeing in the name of the sim I wish to get to. LL please don't ignore this problem . . .

I bet LL thinks the problem is on my side, it seems to be the thought they have a lot and not just with me.

Someone should change the Priority to: CRITICAL

For me it 'fails all the time' (100%) when it fails.
At this moment I cannot TP from any of the listed sims to an other.
SL will always experience a timeout.
But I still might be able to telport to some other sims.

List of TP timeout sims:
Cao Guojiu (my home)
Velvet Thorn
Damsel
Deitide Island
.. many others

"This Moment" is several weeks now and it really sucks.
Before I had that problem, a friend had it, while I was able to TP easily.
Now it is the other way round. - I hardly can TP now.

My really annoying workarround is
1. TP to Trinibago
2. TP to where I originally want to.

This usually works unless other 'unusal' things happen usually, like

  • Sim is down
  • Server errors that cancel the TP with a corresponding message

For shre this does not help if you got Invited by TP. in that case I:
0. IM the one that invited me that TP fails
1. TP to Trinibago
2. TP to where I got invited to.
3. IM the one that invited me, that I reached the sim and ask for an other invite
4. accept the second invite

And this workarrounds are actually counterproductive with the roleplays I (and many others) do in SL.
This has many many more annoying effects nd make SL a real pain.

I also experience this problem on a regular basis. I often have to go to another SIm and TP from there. It can be very annoying when somebody sends you a TP request and you have to keep asking them to re-send.

They up their land tier fees, so why don't they improve the service.

I have been unable to teleport anywhere for days. I have a huge folder full of landmarks so my options aren't very limited at all and every single one of them causes a time out and failed teleport. Due to this, I am unable to visit any other sims, and basically has turned SL into a chat room for me with only those already on my friends list. A fix for this would be GREATLY appreciated!

After some time without troubles, the troubles came back more severe then before.
I am hardly able to TP anywhere.

Since you announced the topic on top of your agenda in February, nothing else seems to have happened.

Dear Linden Lab,

please assign this issue and fix it.
the moment you suffer from this issue, you hardly can use SL.
It also affects business of SL when people are not able to TP to their homes, to shops and malls or get annoyed at all and log out or leave.

Regards,
Mo Noel.

PS: My work arround - TP via Trinibago - does not work any more.
