Andreas, this sounds like the issue reported on SVC-3259 please add your comments, as requested by Soft Linden, and vote to that issue.
Soft Linden: When reporting, please include your full system information (from Help-About Second Life) as well as your ISP and what kind of DSL/Cable modem you have.
