 Description  « Hide
Each time avatar enters/leaves sim (by teleporting or logging in/out) sim stops responding (no ability to move, scripts freezes etc) untill that avatar finishes teleporting or logging in/out.
It gives the impression that internet communication with server for that time is down or server sleeps. It is especially noticable in sims with high people flow (very often entering or leaving).
I only noticed it on private islands, i don't know if that happens on mainlands as well.
Restart of the sim doesnt help, it happens each time someone enters/leaves without single exception.
It happens in my sim Odessa Renowned, but was noticed in many other sims by different people using different browsers and operating systems.
First time was noticed a couple months ago after adult content beta introductions and single avatar lag listings in "Get Top Scripts" window intorduction.
It might be a bug caused by adult content checking when someone enters sim/leaves sim.
When you have high flow in your sim (like every 1-2 minutes someone enters/leaves) and each time sim stucks for 10-15 seconds it makes whole sim useless so i hope something will be done with it.

Ohhh I started noticing this bug more and more often now in sims that I've been visiting. All of which have alot of traffic (30k and up). I tend to visit alot of combat sims and many of them have this kind of traffic. During peak hours you can really notice this bug in action since the combat will pause from every few minutes to every 10 or so secs as people log in and off.

So I definitely would love to see this bug fixed.

Yes, thanks for noticing this! I thought it was only me .... and its happening in non-crowded sims too.

I've been seeing all over in all of the sims I run. When someone teleprots in the sim. no matter where they are and no matter where you are It lags you makes you rubberband back if your moving like when you do that lag walk, walking through the ground and snap back to your spot you were standing. If your trying to walk when someone teleports in, and even standing still I can feel it. Its horrible the performance issues this causes the enteir sim

It seems pretty clear to me that the strategy of relying on LL customers to experiment around and figure out why there are unworkable and unaccepatable simulator freezes when avatars enter a region on the main grid is failing. There are too many variables, and we have no access to the simulator source or any tool other than LSL scripts to determine why this is happening.

What is clear is that lag spikes on avatar arrival are excessive, to the point where vehicles (especially those with multiple passengers) crossing a region boundary can be nearly impossible.

If Linden Research no longer intends to support multi-region vehicle use, and the only viable way to move from region to region is to teleport, it would be nice if that would be stated explicitly, and we can simply discard the millions of L$ worth of content that is effectively useless at this time and stop wasting customer time and energy .
