Everyone seems to be doing a meta-issue now, so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon

In all seriousness, though. This is designed to collect links to proposals which are for new LSL functions. Please relate New LSL function requests to this issue.

Links will follow..

Adding SVC-58, MISC-268, SVC-402, SVC-342, MISC-121, SVC-212, MISC-388, and MISC-298.

all issues I really think need to be on this list.

Also adding MISC-220 (support for matrices) and SVC-377 (llSetInventoryDesc, a rather nifty solution for storing permanent data within an object).

Linked a bunch of issues, including :

Whoops! Meant to add those links to the security/privacy meta-issue (at http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-241) instead of here.
I've now gone back and removed all those links from here, and put them on the right issue.
Any Linden reading this: feel free to delete this comment and my previous one, as post-reversal there is no change.

Why would it need a wiki? Surely the votes for each individual proposal, and it's technical feasibility, should indicate the priority?

McCabe Maxsted added a comment - 21/Feb/08 02:54 AM
A wiki would probably be more readable, and would show a better relation of priorities than looking through all the issues individually to count their votes.

I think jira is quite preferable. It has much better organisation. We can sort issues nicely here.

Also, here we see what happens on jira to a terminated account. Iridium linden is no longer with us.

McCabe Maxsted added a comment - 21/Feb/08 06:04 AM
In terms of organization, the JIRA's definitely better. If you wanted to say make a list of ten functions LL should definitely consider putting in the next release, I'd rather see a wiki.

Anyway. Moved all non-SVC function requests I could find to SVC, added components and linked them here (go insomnia!). Time for sleep.

ten !?!

We're lucky to see more than one in any given release, and said releases are few and far between.
I'd love to live in this fantasy new world where we get 10 new functions in a single release : )

I hate to kill anyone's hopes but the linden's working on the mono project have stated that they are looking to incorporate other languages (C# I think is first on the list) instead of continuing to expand the LSL language...... i'll see if I can't find this in office hours logs or get them to comment on that.

Harleen Gretzky added a comment - 21/Feb/08 07:24 AM
Which is a shame since not everyone knows how to program in C#, and LSL is a really easy language to pick up.

WarKirby Magojiro added a comment - 21/Feb/08 07:31 AM
Well, I'm currently learning C++. I'd imagine if we can see them implemented in SL, a lot of people will learn other languages too.
