Day cycles are about 30 seconds long in regions other thatn your home/login region. This behavior is displayed in both OpenSim regions and LL regions in the OGP Beta grid

Some further observations:
  • the sun is jumping from it's position to the noon position.
  • it doesn't happen 100% of the time
  • it may only happen at certain times of the day - still checking this

I am attaching a viewer log to this: the last region i was in did have this behavior, the first ones didn't - or it wasn't as noticeable. The sun was rising in the last region.

The region an agent connects to should provide the viewer with time of day.
