Still no change on this issue. Connections still fail from anywhere I try. I've reported it to the concierge line multiple times as well as here. After posting questions to the scripting mailing list others have contacted me privately confirming they also seeing this problem. Why is there no feedback from Linden Lab, or at least a confirmation that someone is aware of it?
This has been severely crippling my service throughout the last week and it's still not getting any better - if I leave the emails in the queue for long enough then maybe a few of them get through eventually. It would be great to receive some sort of feedback that somebody is at least looking into this.
It would be interesting to know where in California the servers are; general location, not specific. There have been firebugs setting fires all along Highway 1 this past weekend, not to mention a fair number of dry thunderstorms. I'm not defending or griping at LL; It's just a possibility that these disasters have been affecting telecommunication lines.
This is the kind of issue that makes running a business in SL a nightmare. Right now, all my sales on SLEX are effectively shut down. For some businesses, it can be the straw that makes an owner quit and just say forget it . Lets get this issue fixed asap.
Since about two days ago, the situation seems to have changed: the mail server at data.agni.lindenlab.com now accepts all my email messages and returns a success, even though none of the messages reach any of my objects in-world.
The good side is, at least it seems like someone is fiddling with the mailserver =) |
