I have been attempting to reply to offline IMs that I receive from online characters on a number of occasions. I know the characters are still online, but they never receive the message (even after some time has elapsed). This system used to work for me from the same email client

I do not get any notification that the email has failed

I know that my emails are working in general (have sent a copy of the reply to another address and that arrives.

I have tried a different email client without success

My client is Yahoo.co.uk's web based client (Yahoo beta).

The outgoing header is:

How many days have elapsed from the time you received the IM offline to the time you replied to it? Over a few days will expire that "session". If that's the case, that's intended, and you can close the issue, but if it's say, within an hour or so and it fails, post the failure message.

I've linked as a duplicate SVC-229, where I attempted to reproduce this issue and was unsuccessful.

Hrm. I noticed that there appears to be a carriage return in the "To:" header, and coincidentally I stumbled upon SVC-44 where email replies to IMs bounce because of the malformed header. I wanted to note that one here, but I'm not sure if it's related, so I haven't linked it.
