Cliff is still experiencing this issue with the latest update, which indicates there is an additional bug here.
here is a quick paste of sim alerts from mystitools. I use that as it is easy to copy and paste, and the sim stat's window isn't. Please note that this does not run all the time, like the stats window, but only looks at sim fps and time dilation as snapshots, thus does not show for how long a duration these symptoms last....and may also catch just a blip if it happens to take a look at that moment. I have seen blips in many other sims. I do not see this kind or reaction....
[11:47] MystiTool HUD: Achilles Island Stats Warning: Time Dilation = 0.28 (<0.40), Sim FPS = 13 (<20) most of these will also be of a duration of 30 seconds or more. The ability to move around during these attacks as well as the ability of scripts to run within a reasonable time. When this first started, I did not run screaming to the gods first. Troubleshooting was done to the best of abillity with the tools at hand, including removable of items and scripted objects. 3 days were spent troubleshooting before any report was filed. Not all observations are some newbie freaking out because their hair isn't attached to the right place. It's looking like I was wrong all along (nothing new there). In spite of the troubleshooting I had done, ie...removing scripted objects from the sim to see if that had any effect, it seems that I missed one...a scripted object with particles.....hidden in my lake..so..out of sight, but not really an excuse. I did know of it's existence...so I can't really claim ignorance (although I'd dearly love to about now). It has been in our group for the last 3 sims we have occupied over the last 2 years, with no problem..but..well..sometimes improvements like H4 break things. That's ok. I for one am positive that this is a sorely needed upgrade, and the the odd broken object is a small price to pay. I'm just sorry I couldn't find it faster (of course, access to tools like like top scripts and top colliders wouldn't have hurt), and hereby post this public apology for my aggressiveness towards all the Lindens that I have spoken to re this problem, with special emphasis on an apology to Kelly, which I am giving here now for anyone interested to see. I just got wound up in what seemed to be the problem, since they occurred at the same time, and when it turned out not to be the problem, I am afraid that the brunt of my disappointment was vented here. As I said...I apologize. Isn't the first time I've vented to the wrong person in the wrong place at the wrong time. Unfortunately..not likely to be the last either.....I do get a lot of practice apologizing though...
Well, now it seems that maybe time of day may be involved as well. When I picked up those couple of objects last night (19:00 or so SLT), it seemed that the problem went away...but upon logon this morning it's back as strongly as ever. My apology still holds, but I'm afraid I have to re-open the issue.
It is possible that this is entirely the wrong place for the issue. Since this is a rented, openspace sim privately owned...and now also seemingly all alone and not connected to what others were seeing as cyclical lag issues on openspace sims, maybe someone should just forward this over to a concierge troubleshooting tech. Sidewinder had the thought that maybe there is nothing on my sim causing the behavior, but on one of the other 3 sims running on the same processor. Maybe a Linden who's job is filled with tracking down individual sim problems, with their script and collider tools, could take a quick look at the other sims on the processor as well as mine, and find the problem in just a few minutes. I don't know. As to why, if that is the case, no one has complained from one of the others...well, most often, people don't know where, or how, or have given up and just assume that this is how sl works. I know it isn't, and I know this is not even how this sim works, since I was here before this problem started, and also can now see that sometimes....it's not there. It is there during the normal times that my friends and I are online though..and no..it's not us. I have tested this with only 1 avi in the sim, and have also done so with a different avi. It does not seem to be avi dependent. Closing this for good this time. Since it seems no one else is affected by it, I am now assuming it is something specific to either the sim I am reporting, or one of the other 3 sims on that processor. In that case, it is a support issue, and a ticket has been opened through my landlord (support ticket #4051-4726402) through the Concierge support team, if any developers what to reference that to see what they found the problem to be (if they find it). If it turns out to be something that still needs to be fixed by the development team that can be communicated to you internally via concierge support.
Why'd you reopen this again? It's pretty obviously a duplicate.
Because it shouldn't be marked closed if it isn't closed, because all reports filed on the issue should be available for reading (you never know where a clue to a problem may be hidden), and most of all...because a predecessor pretty clearly cannot be a duplicate of a successor. This was opened weeks before 2219, as was 2055..also still open. Now, if you want a duplicate, 2236 fits the bill, but it is worded slightly differently..so people may find it first if they use different search terms, hence serves a purpose as long as it is linked to what appears to be the main thread (2219). I tend to believe that phrases like "cyclical time dilation" are not the first that occur to the average resident having a problem...so having other open issues that can point people to where the main discussion seems to be taking place can be nothing but a good thing.
I do accept that almost all of the other ones are better phrased and described than this one..but, if one person finds this first, is directed to the others, realizes that this is a known problem after getting a runaround for days from tech support, and is a bit calmed by that fact...it's a good thing, and has served a good purpose. Or is leaving this open causing you a loss of too many bits? I'm not quite seeing the problem. Cliff, please update this issue with the situation after the latest server updates.
Thank you Ellia, for updates on this issue please see SVC 2219. Nothing has changed..on this one or that one, which seems to contain the most people and the main commentary. Meanwhile, I intend to keep this open as an additional search term catcher, pointing to 2219, until the problem is solved.
