Linden Lab Issue ID: DEV-11100
Linden Lab Internal Branch: havok4-3

 Description  « Hide
The new build limit for Havok4 is supposed to be 4096m. Very good news, but it's broken. After today's rolling restart, every object I had placed above 768m was either returned to my inventory as "off-world" or deleted entirely. Fortunately, nothing was no-copy, but this is very bad behavior and needs to be fixed before another massive restart.

I though the new limit was 1024m?

No. Andrew Linden set the limts in Havok4 to 4096m for building, non-physical movement, etc.

Update on this bug. It's still present after the last Havok4 rollout, and is in fact, worse. Now objects aren't just returned; they're mangled beyond recognition. I received two items back this time, both renamed themselves "Object", were missing prims, and the prims that were there were jumbled up.

Kelly says this is fixed.

I don't know who Kelly is, but either he or she is wrong, or the fix has not been released. I just placed two objects in my Havok4 sim. One at 3000m and another at 4000m. After rebooting the server, both were returned from offworld, both renamed, and both partially mangled (one of the child prims became root and moved to where the root prim had been.

This occurs 100% of the time so it's trivially simple to reproduce.

Found a rogue 2000m height cap getting enforced in a weird place. Should be fixed in the next update AFTER the one currently on aditi (which is not yet on main Second Life but will be soon).

Thank you Kelly. Any idea when the client will be updated so we can take advantage of this new build height? At present it is impossible to edit prims up there. You have to move things into place with scripts.

Glad to see this is fixed in the last batch of Havok4 updates. Hopefully we can build at that height soon.
