Edit issue title to clarify meaning. It's a bit too long now, though...
This is an ongoing issue that affects everyone that are nude some time.
Everything from Jessica's shower to naturists or people making love are exposed to this. Hint to LL: Why not just match the region rating on the teleport made when the last location is unavailable? Please fix this or at least make an TOS exception for this kind of rule breaks ? (Added server versions available at the current moment to the issue) This matter definitely needs to be looked on.
I just had my account suspended because I violated the TOS. And that happened because the sim I was at crashed and I logged back in a PG Welcome area... naked. This has happened for way too long, and we need to be TOS-protected against this issue or LL has to change the way avatars log in. Since this is a change in current behavior that isn't really buggy even if it is annoying and a policy issue this seems to be more of a feature request. Changing it as such. I'll vote on this as well since although I've been lucky enough to avoid being ARed (to my knowledge) over it I have had a few embarrassing situations due to this.
I removed this from the monday bug triage agenda because of the change. If you disagree please reopen and also send me a tell to let me know and I'll re-add it to the agenda or re-add it yourself to .https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/2008-12-08 Going back to bug as the decription fits better IMHO.
"A problem which impairs or prevents the functions of the product." I see it as an imparing of the function. The new feature is for... well new features, but being TP'ed due to server issues isn't exactly a new feature. That has happened and will continue to happen for long time it seems. JIRA users seems to be have a strange idea of what a bug is. ("If it's a feature then it's not a bug")
But this issue is a bit of a border case, the side effect of the current behaviour is unintentional. So it's not quite a feature, but not quite a bug either. Aside: I wish they have the issue type "improvement" available. Geneko I agree that this is an edge case which is why I changed it once and left it at that however I get the strange feeling that LL probably woudln't be willing to add a "neither" category since it fits so few issues so it would be more than likely filled with non-relevant issues even though it would be perfect for this situation.
Per my above I'll add this back to that agenda for the meeting on Monday. Edit: Geneko beat me to it There's a tiny point in
The login redirect behavior has been updated in 1.26 server in the following way:
1) It first tries your home and your last location. Until the 1.23 viewer is released, main grid residents are set to Mature and will always be redirected to Mature regions. Once the viewer has been released, residents may change the level of access they want to PG, PG and M, or PG, M and A. The redirect location will be based on the highest maturity they have chosen. Just some food for more thoughts:
"Once the viewer has been released, residents may change the level of access they want to PG, PG and M, or PG, M and A. The redirect location will be based on the highest maturity they have chosen." I assume that the labeling of the choices takes the home and current location into account, but wouldn't it for the sake of clarify be better calling the alternatives "PG", "M" and "A" respectively (referring to the "safe location" choice), as the redirection is based on the highest maturity? Saying that choosing a level of "PG, M and A" as one alternative implies that there are situations (other than the ones mentioned like home and current location) when you could still end up in the "wrong" rating IMHO. Besides that, interesting solution always redirecting to the highest maturity instead of matching the current one, but I assume that is technically better/easier? Thanks for the work anyway, looking forward to have this annoyance fixed in public release The selection is done as an overall preference for the types of content you want to be able to access. The safe location redirect is just one of the things affected by the preference. That's why it's inclusive in the wording.
As for matching the current region maturity, it's surprisingly difficult to figure out the maturity of a region that is down... which is why you are getting redirected in the first place. We looked at that initially. This annoys every skin maker in second life
voted. well on the 1.23 viewer / 1.26 server pairing this is better, but still doesn't always work. Ive still wound up in a pg hub even with my settings set to adult.
