 Description  « Hide
Steps to producing this bug:

-Create an object with permission set to no copy and no modify

-Give this object to someone

-Have them rez it and wear it from the ground

-Have them detach it

-The object will have become unusable, and will dissapear upon relogging

-Clearing cache does not restore it

-Logging into another grid, does not restore it.

Myself, and several others have duplicated this bug. Try it and see.

This is a huge problem for creators who will have no copy and no modify permissions on their objects. Also for people who buy, as this mean a lot of money lost!

Many people accidently drop items or rez them to check them out. And since there is a wear option from the menu, many do decide to just wear the items from the ground, rather than taking them into their inventory first.

Note this is was also tried with seperate permissions, different combos of. No other combination has this problem. It only happens with no copy and no mod objects.

The workaround is simple, take the object into inventory first before attaching it, instead of wearing it from ground.

Duplicate of VWR-12525.

This was also posted several times in the comments of VWR-6110

I realize , that taking the object back is a way to work around it.

However as I stated, many people do not do that. Many will wear it from the ground if they have accidently dropped it. Why have a wear option from the menu, if it will break your object?

This issue needs to be fixed.

I don't disagree that it needs to be fixed, but the issue this duplicates is already fix pending so will be fixed soon.
