i am trying unsuccessfully to upload images from iPhoto into SecondLife. When i select File, Upload, then browse for the image in iPhoto, i get booted out of SL. I have tried this with a number of images now, each time with the same result

Is there any compatibility issues with iPhoto? Or are the images too big..they are only 1.2mb!

Many thanks

The viewer crashes as soon you attempt to upload a fileformat thats not recognized by the viewer/server. I had this a few times when I accidently saved a photoshop-file (PSD) but with the extension PNG. The viewer will show the document bu as soon you click it to confirm the viewer imedeatly crashes. I dont know if happens also on other systems than Mac, but a repro can be made easily.
  • Make a (multi-layered) file in Photoshop (any version)
  • Save this file as Photoshop fileformat but give it a name "test.png"
  • Upload to Second Life

Result:
Viewer will crash directly, even before previewing the image (probably the previewer will make the client crash)

Expected:
A dialog that says "this fileformat could not be recognized" OR a 'gray' file in the file-dialog so only .PNG and .TGA files are showing selectable

The times the client crashed for me, it was 100% of the times about a wrong fileformat ('hidden' in a proper name)
