 Description  « Hide
Having place search display locations by default in order of traffic achieves nothing other than the following:-
  • Encouraging the use of bots
  • Encouraging the use of campers
  • Discouraging new designers or builders from setting up stores or locations.
  • Limiting the user creativity that people actually see, given that they first have to sift through hundreds of bot farms.

For some people traffic is a valuable statistic. As such what I suggest is not ti disable it all together, but a system that incorporates the following:-

  • By default, ranking in search should be RANDOM. For example someone searches for 'cartoon avatars,' then every place with that in the title or description should come up in a RANDOM order. This order would therefore be different everytime you do the search.
  • It should take into account where the keywords are located, for example if the words are in the title as opposed to the description, this could be deemed as being more relevant. Relevance should be taken into consideration and those with the keywords in the title should be displayed (in random order) before the ones with it just in the description.
  • Enabling view by traffic should be a NON-DEFAULT option.
