"Do you want to know how many Lindens I can find running around and actually doing their job? One every four or five months"
Ok Doug, many lindens dong go inworld unless it is necessary, most of them can actually do their job out of world so it is optional for them to login so you may not see them inworld alot because they dont always need to be logged in to do their job Actually, TSL has had a Linden Village just as long as the main grid has had one. I'm there (almost) every Thursday at 4pm SLTime and right before that you can catch Kate's office hour which rocks and makes mine look boring!
As far as attention goes, per capita, teens get far more face time with Lindens because the ratio of Lindens to residents on TSL is much lower than on the main grid. So it's true that it used to be easier to run into a Linden on any given day, and as we grow it's less likely to happen unless you make the effort to attend office hours. Yes as we may have Meiji west, Its very unorganized as there is tons of land that has nothing on it, and some lindens have soo much land just for one persons office, I believe we should have an island called "Linden Village" and come up with a design plan , and put out pathways and make it professional and that way be easier to find offices and overall have a better look on teen grid, and to achieve this new and improved look I believe we need to move the so called "Linden Village" we have now off of mainland to a linden owned private island
and about attending office hours, Its not just us its also the linden whos office hours are being held , they need to promote their office and advertise and get the word out, it cannot be expected for someone to goto the office hour if they dont know when or where they are Added Note If I sounded kinda rude in this message I do not mean that at all I am just trying to stress my Point of view Office Hours are listed here: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Office_Hours#Lindens_with_Teen_Grid_office_hours
[ Show » ] Harleen Gretzky - 03/Sep/08 03:24 PM Office Hours are listed here: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Office_Hours#Lindens_with_Teen_Grid_office_hours
Yes see what we are trying to get done is make more office hours and the current ones better with a more organized and teen grid envoirment , Me and Twilight Linden have started a group Department of Public Works : TG to try and show that we can do this and It will enhance the teen grid by bringing organization and showing what us teen gridders can do instead of having main grid builds on the teen grid I'm sorry Trifile, but the TSL Linden Village works the same as the main grid version....it's a bunch of space where Lindens who want to hold office hours can build out what they'd like. I'm always happy to encourage Lindens to hold TSL office hours, and over the years have gotten a number of them to contribute, but we're not able to devote the resources to make a village better and more exciting than on the main grid. It's up to individual Lindens to build their spaces.
And although I certainly appreciate your enthusiasm, LL can't give some teens Linden land to build out, or beautify as we'd then need to give everyone free land to be fair. And because Land is how LL makes money, if we did that we'd soon go broke and they'd have to fire me and I'd have to work at McBurgerClown....which I would hate :O I missed where giving Teen Grid Residents free land was part of the equation?
We want our grid to look the best it can, and as you said yourself, Blue: ""we're not able to devote the resources to make a village better and more exciting than on the main grid." We want to devote our own resources. We're not asking for your land at all, I don't know where that even came up. I never suggest giving free land to residents, Residents can build an office and everything in meiji west and when everyones done governor linden can force ownership of it all, Im just trying to get more resident involvement into whats on their grid. I really dont see the harm in teens who are willing and If the lindens who have the offices there now would also like it , then i see its just a good way to show what we can do , I may be missing something here but why cant we see if the lindens who have an office there now would like it and if they do the teen gridders best builders can make something that everyone would be proud of.
Teens ask me every week if they can build on Linden land. Sometimes it's to make TSL more beautiful, or to build a RPG, or a club, or a place to welcome new residents....it's always a very generous offer but that's giving someone land to build on, rather than their building on their own land. I'm afraid that if you want to build a village, you will need to do it on your own land, at which point I'll be happy to host an office hour there, as I'm doing tomorrow at 4pm SLTime on the Ramapo region. Please feel free to IM me for a tele.
Well I guess Ill just have to let this go and give up on that, It would be nice to have a TSL LDPW but Im not going to get into all that, maybe next month (kidding).

Overall, Linden Lab needs to be more active in the Teen Grid. Yeah, we recently got Bay City, but we need a bit of attention, too. Do you want to know how many Lindens I can find running around and actually doing their job? One every four or five months.
As any large company should know, making the customers happy is a HIGH priority. But you can't just make the adults happy. Yes, I know they are probably 99% of the money you guys make, but due to your poor care taking of the TG many teens quit and forget completely about SecondLife, whereas if Linden Lab gave us a bit of attention, they would happily transfer to the MG when they come of age, where they are likely to spend even more money. Linden Lab, you are losing money every moment you wait. We don't want to be a thought on the back of one's mind. We don't want it to be like, "Hey fellow co-workers! This would be a great idea to increase our sales! Oh, we could also do it for the Teen Grid, but why waste our money running servers for the lesser part of our income?" This is EXACTLY what I'm talking about. You guys at Linden Lab come up with some honestly great ideas, but you never let the whole consumer base use or see them. 99% of the time, we are left out. Eventually, we WILL quit. And YOU will lose money.
Thanks for reading.
