So, I visited Porta Fosse's sim last week. On Thursday, I received on my email the first invite to his group "Life is good update". I'm not sure, but I think I may actually have been online at the time. But that sometimes happens, so I didn't pay attention. Since then I have received 11 more invites to his group that all go on my email even though sometimes I may really be in-world or really offline. After the 6th invite, I IMed him and asked him if he did only invite me once, which he confirmed. So I have joined his group to see if it would stop it, but I keep receiving more invites to that same group on my email while being online in SL. In all, four times on Thursday, two on Friday, five on Saturday, and so far one more today.
Also, this is sort of related, but a bit different, I had not reported the issue before, because I was not sufficiently bothered yet. There have been at least half a dozen other cases over the past month or so where I have received invites to completely random groups (hungarian, portuguese, commercial, bitches ??? ), also all on my email and while being either offline or in-world. I know some of these may have come from TPing somewhere and walking past some pesty bot that stuck my name on a list for the owner to later invite me to their group, but some of these groups' descriptions have been so absurdly random that there is no way there could have been ever any IN-WORLD contact between me and whatever any of these groups had to do with, and I have suspected every time something must really be amiss. Either a bug or a hack, I dunno?
Anyway, I hope someone can attend to the issue in the first paragraph, at least. I would set a filter in my mail client to not have to see that one same group invite over and over again, but I'll wait a bit just because I'm curious to see if it'll ever stop, or until I'm fed up, whichever comes first. _
