Several residents are reporting that content which has been recently covered by a DMCA is having all instances removed from not just the world itself (as has been policy in the past) but also others' inventories and objects containing or using items that have been DMCA'd (such as scripts or textures) are being deleted entirely.

Residents are reporting that after counterfiling a DMCA notice these objects are returned in a nearly unusable state as the original creator is no longer listed, textures and items are unapplied, and are essentially having to resort to backups to rebuild content.

As the latter has the potential for GREAT harassment I'm seeking clarification from LL on their change in policy, as they have never deleted all instances of an item in-world prior to a few days ago, and clarification that items which have been counter-filed will be restored exactly as they have existed prior to the notice.

Furthermore I must strongly suggest that in the case of residents who frequently file DMCA notices that get counterfiled, a permanent ban is considered against these individuals for harassment.

Edit: For clarification (and I have seen this issue directly through a friend of mine as well) here are two threads on the official forums talking about this:

Residents are reporting that after counterfiling a DMCA notice these objects are returned in a nearly unusable state as the original creator is no longer listed, textures and items are unapplied, and are essentially having to resort to backups to rebuild content.

As the latter has the potential for *GREAT* harassment I'm seeking clarification from LL on their change in policy, as they have never deleted all instances of an item in-world prior to a few days ago, and clarification that items which have been counter-filed will be restored *exactly* as they have existed prior to the notice.

Furthermore I must *strongly* suggest that in the case of residents who frequently file DMCA notices that get counterfiled, a permanent ban is considered against these individuals for harassment.

Comment [ LL is being nice to you Joshua so maybe you should learn how to behave in the context of the TOS/CS since the pjira falls under those rules.

If LL acts in accordance with the previously stated standing policy they will simply close won't fix this pjira issue with only a bland comment directing people to the TOS for instructions on how to contact LL's legal Department. ]
