This ticket relates to what seems to be a hole in island sim payments.
I will present our own situation first: A private individual purchased an island, which has since become so popular that there is a management team now in place to control what happens on the island. The private individual has recently through a change of circumstances been unable to continue to pay tier personally, and has also lost his SL account through nonpayment of monthly fees. The island, however, remains solely his responsibility and Linden Labs will not discuss with any other management team member possible alternatives, such as another account stepping in to take over tier payment. The only way this could happen is for the owner to actually sell the island to somebody else.
Since there is a fundraising team as well, the best option from our point of view is for the fundraising team manager to become a secondary person responsible for paying tier. As things now stand, unless the owner and only the owner pays tier on time, the island will be closed. This is unsatisfactory as the island is an important resource for an entire community.
This JIRA ticket therefore calls on Linden Labs to review their policy where this is concerned, with extreme urgency, and allow where there is obvious difficulty a reserve method of paying tier to be made available.
