This meta-issue is for gathering issues related to the usability of the Second Life system as a whole (including the client, outwardly noticeable server behavior, and the website).

Usability is a broad term that pertains to the general ease with which people can perform tasks using a given tool. Software usability studies include these major attributes:

  • Learnability: How quickly can a new user understand the system in order to perform a given task?
  • Efficiency: How quickly can an experienced user perform a given task?
  • Memorability: How easily can users regain skill at using the system after a significant break?
  • Errors: How many errors do users make, how severe are these errors, and how easily can they recover from them?
  • Satisfaction: Do users find the system pleasant to use?

More information is available here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usability

Votes on this issue should be considered general votes that SL needs to be more usable.

MISC-1403: the "eject from group" operation is needlessly complicated by the fact that the ejecting person has to manually remove the target from all roles before ejecting.
