 Description  « Hide
In this latest two versions, it says my graphic card is unsufficient. I don't see people, i see stripes instead. There are problems in teleporting, cloth changing and mainly seeing other people. I did not have this problem in version 1.19.1.3 and wanted to turn back to that version. When i tried to run version 3, it said i HAD TO upgrade to version 4.

I wanted to buy a new graphic card but since this is a laptop, i can not. i have to change the laptop. Why those problems? And how can I fix this?
Attached is the snapshot i had taken, it is mostly stripes though.

Links to 1.19.0.5 can be found in this blog post: http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/04/03/the-new-viewer-a-well-oiled-machine/#more-1820

You can also trying running with graphics set to Low.

[12:35] Pastrami Linden shouts: is in reference to the Graphics Quality/Performance slider
[12:36] Pastrami Linden shouts: to get to this, go to Edit
[12:36] Pastrami Linden shouts: Preferences
[12:36] Pastrami Linden shouts: then Graphics
[12:36] Pastrami Linden shouts: by pulling that slider to LOW
[12:36] Pastrami Linden shouts: you are ensuring you're back to basics
[12:36] Pastrami Linden shouts: this is also a GREAT technique for anyone who thinks the new viewer is now slower, etc.
[12:37] Pastrami Linden shouts: there is a 99.9% chance you WILL be faster at LOW
[12:37] Pastrami Linden shouts: LOW is close to equal to the old viewer
[12:37] Pastrami Linden shouts: but with settings like draw distance set VERY low

I've already set the graphics to low, it did not change the problem. It realls IS faster in low option, however, no change in other people's appearances. They are still like changing stripes.

This happens with only the other people's appereances. I do not have problems with the graphics of places, etc. Isn't there a possible way for me to use a version of simpler graphics, less detail?

I have contacted my techic service and they keep telling me to buy a new laptop. In this case, i might not be using sl as I used to be.. sadly.
