This new feature request involves a conversation with a young teen-aged female acquaintance of mine. She wants a free Teen SL account, but cannot get one, evidently because her parents are less computer-literate than she, and object to providing forms of identification (like PayPal accounts and such) which "look like spending money" (their phrase).
May I respectfully suggest that the sign-up process for free Teen SL accounts might usefully accept forms of identification not immediately associated with ways to spend money; by way of illustration, the name and identification number on a United States adult driver's license might serve.
I am afraid that my acquaintance – unable to get a free Teen SL account – will be reduced to cheating, and will lie about her age in order to get adult SL accounts instead, and that is Obviously Not Good for anyone, and no one can stop her. I rate the priority "Major" because of the well-known issues with young teen-aged women in the adult SL community.
The sad thing is, my acquaintance really wants the Teen SL account! She has an uncommon amount of sense for her age, and finds herself unable to act in what she knows is her own best interest!
