Steps to Reproduce

Sitting at home.

Actual Behavior

My business partner (Kimochee Resident) created a new group (Virtual Sex Academy), invited me as a member and assigned me to the role of OWNER. I was unable to to edit any parameters of the group as if I still was only a member. I refreshed the group, no change. I relogged, no change. I changed my tag, no change. I logged out of Firestorm and into the SL Viewer, no change.

To recreate the issue, I created a group (kimocheese) invited Kimochee Resident as a member, then assigned her the Owner role and she was unable to make changes to the newly created group as expected being an owner.

Expected Behavior

To be able to edit the the parameters of a newly created group after being assigned the role of owner.

Other information

I am a member of Firestorm QA.

Reproduces for me on Second Life 3.8.1 (303130) Jun 30 2015 16:26:17 (Second Life Release)

Reproduces when the inviter and invitee are on a mainchannel or any RC region.
Reproducd with an old group and a freshly created group.

Inviting someone to a group directly into the Owner role is actually working for me so far, but inviting someone to the Everyone role and then promoting them to group owner does not grant any Owner abilities at all, even after the invitee relogs.
The invitee displays as having the group owner role in the group, but all abilities are greyed out.

Also reproduces on older viewer versions that definitely did not have this bug previously.

Bug does not reproduce when testing on Morris on Aditi, which is currently running Second Life Server 15.07.09.303393 (same as Main Channel) - go figure...

I think the same happens when promoting someone to any role: the user is listed as having the new role but he doesn't get the new rights.

This is fixed on the RC regions after the RC roll today to 15.07.28.303910.

Note that if Avatar A is promoting Avatar B to a new role, then it is Avatar A who must be on an RC region when they do this.
It does not appear to matter what region Avatar B is on when the role promotion is done. Avatar B can be offline.
